The event is basically a simple directions/map guided tour of back roads from Lenoir, NC to Boone, NC (about 80 miles). Entrants will try to identify 18 locations along the route from photographs. We will have two groups, TARGA and TOURING. The TOURING group will have a shorter route to the first checkpoint, giving them 71 miles to cover, versus the 84 miles the TARGA group will cover in the same three hours. Both groups will have to identify 18 locations from photos taken along the route. No gimmicks, just the printed directions, the photos, and a tiebreaker poker-run en-route. We're still nailing-down the location to have the awards presentation, which will depend on the number of entrants, and may slightly alter the end location of the event. (Important: Speed is not the object, the two groups are just to allow for differing ideas of a fun pace.)
